Pediazole Patient, Information, Instructions - Erythromycin and Sulfisoxazole INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS

Patients should maintain an adequate fluid intake to prevent crystalluria and stone formation.

Laboratory Tests:   Complete blood counts should be done frequently in patients receiving sulfonamides. If a significant reduction in the count of any formed blood element is noted, Pediazole should be discontinued. Urinalysis with careful microscopic examination and renal function tests should be performed during therapy, particularly for those patients with impaired renal function. Blood levels should be measured in patients receiving a sulfonamide for serious infections. (See INDICATIONS AND USAGE .)

Drug/laboratory Test Interactions:   Erythromycin interferes with the fluorometric determination of urinary catecholamines.
